The main question has to be over the Bahrain Grand Prix, as it was cancelled last year due to civil unrest surrounding the Arab Spring Uprising and the unrest is continuing.  Only last week there was a fresh outbreak of violence that was brutally put down.  However, Bernie Ecclestone says the race will happen, so that’s that then!

The other main interest on the calendar is the US Grand Prix at Austin in Texas scheduled for 18th-18th November.  This was also in question until very recently when it appears funding has been found to placate Mr Ecclestone – it’s a good job it’s so late in the season though as they haven’t even begun to lay the track!

Apart from that the season has a very familiar look to it with no major changes, the usual month off in August will be a good break for the drivers, bless them, they need their holidays.
